FAQ

Short answers.

If you just want in, join the open pool — no money. The homepage is what this is. Why the house always wins is the argument. How it works is the week.

What is this?

A sportsbook-shaped pool for a friend group. Credits drop each week. You bet that week’s games (moneylines, spreads, totals, parlays). Same Sunday ritual — you vs friends, not vs a book. Unplug the house and money, if you put any on it, keeps cycling in the group instead of leaving.

What if I want some skin in the game?

Yes. Gamble against your friends the same way you already do fantasy: pick a treasurer, agree a buy-in, settle in Venmo. The app never accepts, holds, or pays out money, and nobody takes a cut. You can still lose to a friend. What you cannot do is lose a slice to a house.

I’ve never bet. Is this for me?

Yes. The homepage is the short version — no −110, no lecture. Join is credits and a board. No money. If you wouldn’t join a fantasy league with these people, skip it.

Is there real money?

The app: no. No deposits, no cashout, nothing for sale. Signing up lands you on the open board — ranked, badges, credits only. If a friend group wants money on it, they run a separate pool like fantasy: treasurer, buy-in, Venmo. You play here. The app never holds the cash. Nobody takes a cut.

What’s the open board vs a friends pot?

Signing up puts you on the open board. Everyone ranked. No money. Badges are the point. A friends pot is optional cash among a smaller group, like fantasy — treasurer, Venmo, outside the app. That group can keep score as skins (win–loss plus a playoff) or one season board (1st and 2nd). You still play here. Cash still stays outside.

Why not DraftKings / FanDuel / a Vegas book?

Those companies are the opponent. A $20 bet there leaves this group. In 2025, legal U.S. sportsbooks took about $166 billion in bets and kept about $17 billion — roughly a dime on every dollar. Here the opponent is the group. If money is involved at all, it stays in the chat.

Are the odds better / is this “plus EV”?

No. Same kind of numbers you’d see at a book. We are not beating Vegas. The difference is where the dollars go if a group pots it. Vs a book, money leaks to the house. Vs friends, the loop stays in the group.

If there’s no money, why would I care?

Same reason people care about fantasy: the board, the week, the chat. If that’s not enough, a friends pot can add a buy-in outside the app. That caps what you can lose. It is not an unlimited deposit button.

How is this different from ESPN / Sleeper fantasy?

Fantasy: you draft players. Skill is roster construction. This: you pick sides and numbers on real games. Tickets lock at kickoff. Skill is handicapping. Keep your fantasy team.

How do I join?

Hit Play this week. Enter your email and a username. No password. Check the sign-in email (and spam). Then bet this week’s slate — phone or desktop. If someone later starts a friends pot, that’s a separate yes.

What do I need?

A phone browser and an email inbox. Add it to the home screen if you want it to feel like an app. No App Store. No password to remember.

When do I play?

Credits drop Tuesday. Tuesday through Monday is “bet this week’s games” — you cannot park a ticket on next week. Kickoff locks that game. The ticket settles when the game ends, not in a Monday batch. Unspent credits expire when the week rolls Tuesday. Sitting out is a bad week, not a dead season. Fresh stack next Tuesday.

What can I bet?

NFL moneylines, spreads, and totals. Singles and multi-game parlays. Not player props. Not other sports. Not in-app cash.

What happens to unused credits?

Leftover does not carry. When the week rolls Tuesday, unused credits close — all of them, in every format. Ranking treats every credit you never staked as gone, so a week you sat out scores the same as a week you went all-in and busted: you have to cash something to get off the floor. A credit only counts once it has been wagered and settled. If you tie — in either format — it goes to whoever put more on the line. None of this is a commissioner setting.

What can I set when I create a pool?

Format, window, weekly allotment, and (for skins) playoff rules. Name and badges stay editable. Competitive settings freeze at the first kickoff of the pool’s first scored week.

  • Format. Group/pool: profit plus weekly badges, 1st and 2nd at the end. Skins (head-to-head): one matchup a week, record into playoffs.
  • Window. This week, rest of the season, full regular season (weeks 1–18), or a custom start/end.
  • Weekly allotment. Default 1,000. Fresh stack every week. No carry.
  • Head-to-head extras. Playoff size (auto / none / 2 / 4). Opponent tickets: open book, or hide this week’s opponent until their games lock.
  • Badges. Podium, Last, Ghost, Goose egg. Ghost cannot medal. Badges are chrome — they do not rank the pool.
Can I cancel a bet?

Before lock: yes, but 10% of the stake is burned (90% returns to credits). That exists so people cannot post a fake lean, then yank it when a friend fades them. After kickoff: no.

How do standings work?

Open pool / free-for-all: net profit on credits, plus weekly badges. The top of the board is the champion. Skins / head-to-head: win–loss is the playoff ticket. Champion won the bracket.

What if I join late?

You get this week’s credits only. Profit counts from join forward. You are not owed weeks you missed. A friends-pool buy-in is a group decision — don’t assume you’re in a cash game because you joined the app.

Who sees my bets?

The pool has an open book: pending and settled tickets. That’s the product. If you want a private diary of bets, this is the wrong game.

Are you making money off us?

No. There is no rake and nothing to buy. If friends run a pot, the person who built this still takes 0%.

The login email didn’t show up.

Check spam. Wait a minute. Then send feedback — the sign-in email is the brittle part, not the betting.

Something settled wrong.

Screenshot it and send it through the form. Don’t write a novel in the group thread. If a side pot depends on the result, freeze Venmo until it’s corrected.

Can I invite other people?

Ask first. The open board is meant to stay a known group. Random adds make support worse and the chat worse.

Still with it?

Join the open pool. Credits, badges, no money.
